About recent triathlon races

Last diary was written in 2years ago...
It's too bad...

These several years, I tried Triathlon races.
This year, I already joined two races, The 2nd Muroto Geopark Triathlon
, and LIXIL Ironman 70.3 Centrair Chita Peninsula Japan.

Muroto Geopark Triathlon is a Olympic distance race, which consist of 1.5km swimming, 40km cycling, and 10km running, totally 51.5km distance.
Especially, the characteristics of this race is extreme bike course. Precipitous geography of Muroto peninsula make this bike course very exciting.
I could complete the whole course, but I was very tired.
I suggest you this race, if you want to try more hard course, especially in bike section.

Ironman 70.3 Japan is a Middle distance race, which consist of 1.9km swimming, 90km cycling and 21.1km running, totally 113.1km (70.3 miles) course.
Ironman is a special brand in triathlon race. Real Ironman race is totally 225km (140.619miles), however, there are no real Ironman race in Japan. Ironman 70.3 Japan is the only one race with Ironman brand in Japan.
The distance was longer than OD, and Ironman is not only the race, but also the event for local communities.
It is very exciting and I had a good time. Of course, I could complete the whole course.

This year, I will try one more middle distance race in Sadogashima.
Next year, I want to try long distance race.

Business Carieer Test

Today I took Business Carieer Test, which is a certification for business people.
There are many speciality as the testing subject, which is along general business section. I tried two subjet, third grade of Marketing, and Accounting.

Both of them are basic level but not so easy. Especially, Accounting is very difficult because I'm not have a experience related accounting work. Marketing is easier than Accounting. I often read such kind of issue by books or web sites, so I could image what is the question meaning.

I'm not a specialist of marketing or accounting, but a system's engineer. Recently I feel that we don't need to study only IT technology, but also the customer's business. Especially, marketing and accounting are important for analyzing business using BI. I think it is useful for considering how to use JasperReports Server on business scene.

I hope I apply the knowledge to the contents for seminar on next Open Source Conference, or workshop of JJSUG if possible...



160km Ultra marathon in Suwa lake

Last weekend, I tried 160km ultra marathon in Suwa lake.
In this event, the challengers tried to run 10 time around the lake.
This is too tough for me currently. I gave up 6 time round, 96km.

For complete 160km running, I need to prepare the strategy. Certainly, I need to do much m9re training. However, it is not so simple to run long distance. At least, we need to consider the following,

1. how to keep running,
2. how to take the rest,
3. how to get food and water.

1 is similar to normal marathon, but, generally, the speed is quite slower. However, most of marathon including ultra marathon set limit time.

2 is quite different from normal marathon. In normal marathon, most of runners run away until finishing. However, ultra marathon is too long to do same thing. We need to run over 24 hours! We need to consider how to take a rest with keeping motivation to run again.

3 is also different. In the case of full marathon, there are several aid-stations for runners to get drinks or lite meal or suppliments each 5 - 10 km. In the case of　the ultra marathon I joined, there is only one station in the course. In the suwako marathon I tried this time, it is round course, so I could get aids each round, but one round is 16km. some runners seem to run without any drink bottles or foods, but I prepared a hydration pack and light food in the sub zack.

I felt ultra marathon is very difficult sport. Only phisical power and technique are not enough. Strategy and experience are necessary additionally.
I need to study more, and try again!

JJUG CCC 2013 Spring

Last Sunday, I went to Japan Java User Group's Cross-Community Cunference - JJUG CCC 2013 Spring.

There are many communities related to Java language. This event is for them to sharing their technical information and communicating each members.

Recently I don't use Java for my job, so most of the technical issues feel very difficult. However, the last session, which is titled as "Workshop situation in local area", is very empathetic matter.

In Tokyo, There are many engineer. If we plan to have a workshop, we can get many participants soon. However, In other city, it is very difficult to get so much guest.

Actually there are different problems in both Tokyo and other area. We should cooperate to activate our workshop each other.
